The Lord of the Rings had some pretty serious subject matter. The fate of the world was left up to a few individuals who were ready to sacrifice everything for the greater good. Thanks to their efforts, Sauron was defeated, and virtue prevailed. As serious as that was, there was plenty of comic relief in Tolkien’s work. Merry and Pippin were trouble-makers, but they were never afraid of a good time and a joke at someone else’s expense. Likewise, Gandalf had a sense of quiet, ironic humor that occasionally showed through.

Lord of the Rings New Movies Set at Warner Bros

Warner Bros. Pictures is revamping the “Lord of the Rings” film franchise.

On a Thursday earnings call, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav announced that newly-installed studio leaders Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy have brokered a deal to make “multiple” films based on the beloved JRR Tolkien books. The projects will be developed through WB label New Line Cinema. The first “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, helmed by Peter Jackson, grossed nearly $3 billion worldwide; Jackson’s follow-up trilogy based on Tolkien’s “The Hobbit” matched those grosses.

Bandai Namco Teases a Possible DLC For The Game

Elden Ring publisher, Bandai Namco, has teased a possible return to The Lands Between. The title was released in February 2022, and since then, DLC content has been the topic of much speculation.

Elden Ring Sells 20 Million Units

Elden Ring has officially sold over 20 million copies in less than a year according to Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware.

The announcement came just days before Elden Ring’s one year launch anniversary on February 25 in a tweet from the game’s official account (below), and an accompanying statement on Bandai Namco’s website. “Our heartfelt thanks for your support and companionship on this journey,” the post said.

We last heard of Elden Ring sales figures in June last year when it had sold 16.6 million units, but the holiday push and perhaps the slew of Game of the Year awards
