Ring Energy (REI) to Acquire Permian Basin Assets for $75M

US-based oil and gas producer RingEnergy REI recently agreed to buy the Central Basin Platform (“CBP”) assets of privately-held upstream company Founders Oil & Gas IV. The transaction, valued at $75 million, further solidifies Ring’s presence in the Permian Basin and enhances its operational capabilities. The acquisition — to conclude by Sep 30 — is expected to be immediately accretive and bring various benefits to the company’s shareholders.

NY drug ring peddled fentanyl to unsuspecting buyers

A violent upstate drug ring that peddled potentially deadly fentanyl to buyers who thought they were buying oxycodone had been busted, state authorities said Tuesday.

A group of 48 people were charged with various crimes for their involvement in helping to land illicit drugs, which also included heroin and cocaine, in five counties in the Finger Lakes region, New York Attorney General Letitia James said at a press conference in Rochester.

Law enforcement seized more than 10 kilograms of fentanyl, 10-plus kilograms of cocaine and more than a quarter pound of heroin totaling $9 million in the bust.

Amazon’s Ring doorbell was used to spy on customers, FTC says in privacy case | Amazons

A former employee of Amazon’s Ring doorbell camera unit spied on female customers for months in 2017 with cameras placed in bedrooms and bathrooms, the Federal Trade Commission said in a court filing on Wednesday when it announced a $5.8m settlement with the company over privacy violations.
