New Lord of the Rings movies in the works

Several new films based on The Lord of the Rings are in the works.

With the franchise in the middle of a resurgence thanks to the hit Prime Video series The Rings Power and upcoming anime films War of the RohirrimWarner Bros. Discovery has made a deal with rights holders Middle-earth Enterprises for more feature films.

This deal is actually separate from the TV side, which covers the Prime Video series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Powerso these new films would theoretically not directly connect to that show.
