Kate Bosworth’s Diamond Ring Fuels Engagement Rumors

Over a year into their relationship, Kate Bosworth and Justin Long officially made their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscars party on March 12. Wearing a chic plunging gown by Monique Lhuillier, the “Blue Crush” actor smiled for the cameras with her hand on Long’s chest, offering a view of her massive diamond ring. Even though reps for the actors have not confirmed their engagement, it sure looks like the couple is headed towards the aisle.

On March 15, Bosworth seemed to reference the news on Instagram alongside film photos from the Oscars afterparty. Among a list of

How Kiama’s ‘blue diamond’ helped build colonial Sydney, paving the way with basalt

The distinct hexagonal columns found at Kiama’s Bombo Headland Quarry on the New South Wales south coast, like those of the Giant’s Causeway in Ireland, are a natural phenomenon offering geologists insights into the Earth’s core mantle.

But they also tell a different story, one of hard-working men doing loud and dangerous mining work as old Sydney town established itself on the back of basalt.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers are advised this story has a photo of people who have died.

First mined in the 1880s, basalt came to be known as Kiama’s blue diamond.

Speaking Saturday at the gathering in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the former president at times sounded more like a candidate delivering a stump speech than an ex-president memorializing a valued friend or political ally.

The economist who just won the Nobel Prize warns the Fed will ‘all kinds of trouble’ if it raises rates too fast

The University of Chicago has long been known for its roster of distinguished economists, including Douglas Diamond, who just shared the Nobel Prize in Economics with former Fed Chair Ben Bernanke and Diamond’s frequent collaborator, Philip Dybvig of Washington University in St. Louis. Since Diamond’s a specialist in the economics of banking, I wanted to get his view on the inflationary surge and the Fed’s desperate race to tame it. On Oct. 11 we spoke at length by phone. Diamond quickly noted that the central bank’s moves did exert a huge impact on the lending ecosystem. And he expressed strong …
