The earrings have been at the center of many court hearings, with Erika refusing to hand them over at one point. On RHOBH season 12, Erika was even caught wearing the items as she walked through Aspen.
The $750,000 earrings featured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 have had a long journey over the last few years, with news outlets keeping the public informed on the legal battle. The trustees for the Girardi Estate requested that Erika turn over the diamond earrings Tom Girardi purchased for her in 2007. It was alleged that Tom bought the earrings with client funds. At one point, Erika did turn over a pair of earrings, but it was later reported that they were not the same ones the trustees were asking for. In the end, the earrings were sold at an auction for $250,000, but Erika liked the sale.

RHOBH housewife Erika’s earrings now sit on the ears of Lauren Boyette Richards, the wife of one of the trustees, Ronald Richards. In an Instagram post, Lauren showed off the diamond earrings, while bragging she would go after any other jewelry that was auctioned. Lauren taunted Erika by mentioning she could see why the singer fought to keep them, noting they were “stunning.” Even though the fans were waiting for Erika to take the bait and respond, she has yet to comment.
Lauren Richards Faces Backlash From RHOBH Fans
Even though Lauren bought the diamond earrings at an auction with the money going to the victims, RHOBH fans felt the post was “icky.” Lauren should be given props, because she didn’t back down when one follower questioned her motives, asking if Lauren had purchased them, “To help victims or for clout?” Lauren then responded, “I did both. Your point?” The lawyer’s wife wasn’t afraid of a little tussle, as it was clear she was having the last laugh by owning the diamonds. One fan asked if Lauren was aiming to hold a diamond on RHOBH replying,”I’d rather buy the ‘missing pair’ of earrings originally supposed to be sold and donate both for these innocent families.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Erika is gearing up for another legal battle, this time in court. Erika was sued back in August 2021, and accused of being aware of money being taken from Girardi-Keese that was used to fund her ostentatious lifestyle. Erika was recently put in charge of the case and has decided to go to court, opting for a jury trial. It seems highly unlikely that Erika will ever wear her beloved earrings again, and for now, they will continue to sit on Lauren’s ears.
