The seventh annual Premier Jewelery and Loans diamond earring auction was a huge success.
Premier Jewelery and Loans, in partnership with Castanet, and with help from the community raised $7,600 for the Kelowna Women’s Shelter.
The earrings were appreciated at $7,900 with the ending bid at $7,600.
This year’s diamond earrings were a pair of 1.22 carats custom-made diamond halos with butterfly backs.
Premier Jewelery and Loans owner Martin Strasser says the community went above and beyond.
“There was some fierce competition for bidding on the earrings. The end bidder really stepped up to take it home. I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out and I mean they have got some lovely earrings and they have supported an amazing cause ,” he said.
The fundraiser has collected $45,500 for the Kelowna Women’s Shelter over the past seven years.
“It will go to our programs. All of our programs are not fully funded. Although we are best known for our transition house or shelter we actually have outreach programs, programs that support children and youth and education and prevention,” said the executive director of the Women’s Shelter Allison McLauchlan.
Strasser says he anticipates the diamond auction will be around for years to come.
