Bliss narrows focus to gold, expands Italian retail - gold jewelry
Bliss now sells only gold pieces set with natural diamonds and colored gemstones.

Bliss is tightening its business structure within the Damiani group to keep a clear brand identity while aiming for growth. After trimming its collections, the label now sells only gold pieces set with natural diamonds and colored gemstones, and it is expanding a sales network that is 90% Italian. The move follows a market trend toward specialization and seeks to simplify decision-making across the organization.

New leadership drives a youthful yet established image

General Manager Simone Basile, who took the helm a little over two years ago, says the brand just celebrated its 26th anniversary and wants to keep “shining every moment.” He emphasizes that the anniversary marks a milestone that reflects decades of craftsmanship. The slogan encourages customers to wear jewelry as part of daily life.

According to Basile, Bliss talks to two groups: upscale jewelers that stay current with market challenges, and a broad consumer base that includes women, girls, some men, and travel-retail shoppers. Both segments receive tailored communication that highlights the timeless design language of the collections. The message is meant to resonate across ages and occasions.

Given its focus on natural stones and a tight retail partnership model, it could see steady demand from Italy’s many boutique stores. Retail partners appreciate the clarity of the assortment, which reduces inventory complexity. If the strategy holds, the label may strengthen its position without needing aggressive advertising, relying instead on the credibility of its dealer ambassadors.

It emphasizes constant contact with multimarca retailers, calling them “ambassadors” who convey Bliss values to end buyers. These ambassadors often host private viewings that deepen client relationships. Italy hosts more than 10,000 jewelry shops, and the label works with the 400 top retailers that have shown “courageous” buying decisions and continue to invest in the name.

Events remain a core channel. Basile cites the September VicenzaOro fair as a major showcase and notes that meetings with group brands, trade partners, and the supply-chain platform T.Gold are “precious” for future planning. The fair, known for showcasing high-end Italian jewelry, draws collectors from across Europe. A similar gathering is slated for January 2027.

International exposure is still limited. Basile adds that any overseas moves will likely be coordinated with the wider Damiani group, leveraging existing cooperation rather than launching standalone operations. Such coordination helps preserve brand consistency across borders.

The parent group closed 2025 with revenues above 400 million euros, a rise of 5.2%. After acquiring the watch brand Baume & Mercier in 2027, Damiani will debut a double booth at Watches and Wonders in Geneva from April 5-11. The upcoming booth will feature both the newly acquired timepieces and signature gemstone pieces.
